Malaysians to blame

It is clear now with the S.E.A. Games. The Indonesians don’t like Malaysians. This is only sports but Indonesians seem to take this opportunity to show their displeasure of the Malaysians, by booing at our delegates, officers and participants and even, to the anguish of many, showing disrespect to Malaysian national anthem and flag.

This is all Malaysians’ doing. They treated the female citizens of Indonesia who had come to work as maids for the households of Malaysia with disrespect. Words do go back to their country. So this is what they are getting in return.

The Indonesian maids had been approved by the Malaysian Government to work only as maids in houses but I saw many of them forced by their employers to also work in their restaurants. I had also seen one maid climbing up a ladder to clean up the ceiling fan, coolly watched by her female employer, poor gal! I mean the Indonesian maid!  I had seen another one washing the car!

I haven’t, personally, seen them being abused physically, but it rages me inside to read in the papers of these poor maids being beaten and treated badly by their uncivilized employers. When, I, as a Malaysian can feel such anger do we have to tell about the Indonesians!


It is still not too late yet to change. Show that we Malaysians are caring people. Treat the maids as part of our family. Buy them presents. Joke and laugh with them. Give them proper rest. Take them to places where you would want your family to go, not to give them work but just to make them enjoy the tour.

As I had said, words do get around. Do the good deeds and see their reaction at the next sports event in Indonesia when Malaysians take part. They are also humans, with feelings.

Disgusting Meera

I wonder how the authorities can approve the purportedly 'comedy' serial ‘Sabash Meera’ from India, to be shown in Malaysia. This serial is shown daily on weekdays on Astro Vanavil at 8.30pm. 

In the serials, the main character Meera, played by Kovai Sarala, seems to be always belittling her father, calling him all sorts of names, under the name of comedy. The last straw was in the episode shown recently, on Thursday, November 10 2011, where the female character,Meera, talks of sending her father to the old folks’ home, and in a later scene, takes him into a room, and supposedly whacks him, behind the door!

Is this how we are going to bring up our children in Malaysia? How can such a sickening serial be shown in Malaysia? What are the Hindu Sangams doing? Just laughing along, I suppose.

This serial should be removed immediately from the Malaysian screens before the children of Malaysia begin to assume that it is the norm to belittle their parents, and make a laughing stock of them.

Why Thailand? Why now?

Thailand is suffering from the worst flood that it has ever seen. It is almost 3 months now. Over 500 people have died. 2 million displaced. 

Why? Why Thailand? Why now?

Is having a woman Prime Minister, in Yingluck Shinawatra, in Thailand for the first time, a bad omen for the nation? 

Or are the heavens angry because Thailand had gone overboard by permitting its citizens to fight among themselves (the red and yellow shirt fiascos), without due regard and respect to its monarchies that they so worshipped? 

Or has the prevalence and passive acceptance of vices, especially, that of sexual in nature made the nation reap the punishment in this form? Or is it an act of nature or nature's wrath?

Only time will tell. 

After Gaddafi, who?

Saddam Hussein is dead.
Osama Bin Laden is dead.
Muammar Gaddafi is dead.
All under different circumstances.
But still the same, they were all anti-west, especially the USA.
The tempting question now is,
Who next?

Datuk Seri Najib's Budget Gaffe

The Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib made his Budget 2012 disclosure on Friday October 7, 2011. I thought he was doing a good job, offering the business concerns and the public this and that until when nearly at the end of his speech, he, in the humorous style of his, almost like tongue in cheek, mentioned that the members of the parliament will even have their allowances raised if both the ruling Barisan Nasional Party and the Opposition parties agreed. The members of the ruling party laughed. This is money freely given. Surely the opposition party members will agree along! Others, too, laughed together. Even I could not help smiling. It is all about money, then.

But I had my reservation. This will be a fodder for the opposition party to use it in this time of approaching election  to tell the Malaysians that they have the economic well being of the people at heart foremost, and that they are foregoing the increase in their allowance so that the money can be used for the people’s urgent needs.

That is exactly what happened. Next day I saw in an English Daily that opposition party members Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad and Azmin Ali opposed the plan saying that the time was not right and focus should be on the people and the rising cost of living and not on the allowances.

Poor PM. He should be regretting he said it. Knowing the opposition, they would be harping on this matter during their election speeches.
