English Football
To the soccer fans of England, I wish to say sorry that I am not enthusiastic about their soccer, anymore.
I used to be very ardent about the English clubs, before the World Cup Final. Once England went out, at the earlier stage, without a whimper, I lost interest in the Final, and the team from England, in particular. I began to think that the English players will be always the great pretenders to win the world cup as had always been, since their win of 1966.
Even the mention of their great players doesn’t excite me anymore. Why, it even irritates me sometimes! News about Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Andy Johnson, to mention a few, had always attracted my attention. Not anymore! Even when their favorite clubs win in their friendlies with other clubs by big margins, as in the recent cases of Arsenal and Manchester United or even Manchester City winning over their opponents, my mind starts to say that for all they want they can win by 20 to 0 and they will still be no contenders to the World Cup. Only pretenders!
Well, having getting that off my chest, I want to say that I have not lost interest in football, totally. My eyes always seek out for news on my favorite coach Jose Mourinho!

Tun Dr Ling in the Palace of Justice
The offence was allegedly committed at the Prime Minister’s office in Putrajaya between Sept 25 and Nov 6, 2002. The basic charge is that he had knowingly deceived the cabinet in approving the purchase of a land for a major project, the cost of which had escalated tremendously.
Following the prosecution, the ever all knowing former Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Muhammad who was at the helm when Tun Dr Ling was the Transport Minister, commented that this was just an accusation and Tun Dr Ling is innocent until proven guilty.
Wow! RM1 million bail just for an accusation!

Rajnikanth - the superstar
There he sits, humbly, an old man of sixty, of dark complexion, wearing a simple slack and shirt. His head is bald except for the slight patches of hair on the sides. He can be mistaken for a low paying Indian worker, perhaps like a bus conductor, which he once actually was. Not anymore! Now he is The Superstar of the Tamil film world! This is Rajnikanth! The heart throb of millions of young girls!
Young girls? Sixty-years old man? You are wondering! Yes, exactly. Not with the present manifestation, of course. It is when he is acting in the screens, with all the makeovers. In the screens he plays a youthful, handsome and stylish actor, an eligible bachelor on whom the girls keep their eyes on! Add to this, his mischievous antics and heroic fights with the screen baddies, the attraction is magical! The audience really gets turned on. Now, that is acting. An old man able to make the young viewers of both sexes crave for more! No wonder his films are always hits.
He is the James Bond of Tamil cinema where young heroines line up to act beside him, for the glamour and prestige that will be bestowed upon them. His film, ‘Endhiran’ (Robot) had former Miss World, Aishwarya Rai acting beside him, which she would have, certainly, thought as her divine luck.
I am no teenager but I can't wait to see all his new films!

American values
See, I am embarrassed to have any pictures denoting it above! May be I can just have a picture of a judge striking the gavel on his table!
Yes, in the USA, the California court has validated the same-sex marriage of these two men and they were expressing their happiness in public. Disgusting indeed, for the up keepers of traditional values.
By striking down the ban, the judge had also struck down the hopes of the people striving to maintain the traditional family values. Not only that. In my opinion, he has gone against the will and wishes of God. For, if God had wished for such a thing as same-sex marriage to happen He, in the first place, would have created only men in this world, and not men and women.

My old faithful TV
Watching TV can sometimes be such a pain. They keep on showing the same advertisements again and again. They also show advertisements that keep on asking us to change to the latest technically improved TVs.
Why must I change to the new types of TVs? The stories and news are going to the same in the new TVs, as in my old faithful, aren’t they? Will the hero live in the new TV and die in the old one? Is there going to be a difference in the number of goals scored in a game shown in a new TV? Will the goalkeeper save a penalty kick in the new screen and miss the ball in the old tube! If he does, then I am going to change!
They say that in the new TVs that they term as LCD, LED, Plasma, or HDTVs, it is possible to bring out the pictures in 3D images. It will be so realistic that I might feel that the settings are brought into my living room itself! No, sir! I like complete privacy in my home. I don’t want any Avatars or Conans coming into my living room! And again, I wouldn’t like to be tempted to turn my head left and right to see whether ghosts or vampires are hiding somewhere nearby! Neither do I want to duck my head to avoid an oncoming arrow!
Ha! Ha! You go ahead, please. Buy the latest type of TV. Just allow me to come into your living room once in a while. Don’t worry, I will fore-announce it!
Oh, another thing! In Malaysia, the old TV, that we also call as analog TV will still be available for several more years yet. So I am saved!
